i have been a vegetarian for about 2 months and lately whenever at school they are serving or cooking meat the smell just sicken me like the feeling i am going to throw up. I can look at meat and everything but its just the smell that bugs me. Is this normal?
Your just adapting to your new lifestyle my boyfriend and I have been vegetarian for 5 months, at first your mind will want to justify this change by creating an aversion to meat and your sense of smell is key in your desire to eat so the sickening feeling is normal and shows that you are committed to your choice. Eventually that disgust will not seem as heavy and you won’t notice it as much. Good choice and enjoy your healthy lifestyle.

Yes..it’s normal. It’s mostly psychological obviously but it will get easier with time.

Yes. I can’t stand the smell either. After all, the smell is from a cooking corpse. Nasty!

No, it’s actually a "normal" response. The smell reminds you of the taste & it bothers you.

It’s not weird, as scent and taste are such similar senses.

yeah it does that to me to. i feel repulses for those oor animals that were treated so inhumanly and then slaughter so that someone could have the satisfaction of hamburger. fake meat(which i would prefer not to eat but my aunt thinks shes helping me by making me tons of faux meat products like lasanga when i would rather have a vege(carrots, peppers, beans, broccoli…)lasanga and that doesn’t make me feel as sick but i think its beacuase i know no animal was murdered for it.

It’s normal, think about it, part of a dead decomposing animal is being heated.

It’s normal. I hate the smell of meat, chicken, or fish. It does make my stomach hurt when I smell it. I’m honestly a person that was bound to become vegan at some point in my life, because even as a toddler, i’d cry because I would be forced to eat meat or eggs. I never liked it. So, i’m not just a moral vegan, i’m also repulsed by meat, poultry, and fish.

No, not really. I do however feel sick as the smell of raw meat like when I walk past a butcher’s shop. Not because I’m vegan – even before I stopped eating meat, I found the smell to be quite digusting….ugh.
